just my opinion, of course

Both my mom and dad were big fans of this movie. I recently watched in on TCM just "for old time's sake. It's not a "sweeping epic," but it is good story-telling. I suspect their fondness for it had a lot to do with the breathtakingly beautiful hero and heroine and the Texas landscape. (:

I really hated the fight scene at Sarge' s. It went on for far too long, and I don't see the spirited Luz just sitting there weeping helplessly. Leslie didn't act in a way that was true to her character, either.
