Eloise Jensen's designs

I always loved the way Eloise Jensen clothed Lucy, and It is a delight to see some variations on her "I Love Lucy" designs in this movie.

What a great talent she was.

I read once that when Lucille Ball-who started out as a New York Model-walked into a room, women would applaud. Lucy had the carriage and the class to make costumes work in her Movies and Shows. Years ago, each studio had designers

MGM Adrian and Helen Rose
Columbia Jean Louis
Paramount Edith Head
20th Billy Travilla and Charles LeMaire

Kim Novak in her appearance at the Egyptian Theatre noted the work of Jean Louis who Kim felt was the best designer she ever worked with; that Jean Louis read scripts and designed clothes that fit the mood and tempo of the scene.

Kim worked with Edith Head on Vertigo, Renie on Legend of Lylah Clare, but most of her films were with Jean Louis who helped created the stardom of Kim Novak.

Debbie Reynolds once cracked that she walked into Helen Rose's bungalow at MGM Miss Burbank and walked out a movie star.
