Remake time!!!!

I don't think a remake is needed.

This was one of the very first films that featured aliens becoming aggressive towards humans in an almost generic manner by showing up in flying saucers and attacking without provocation. Since then, countless TV shows and movies have already covered the same area.

I love this movie but while the plot was (maybe) groundbreaking back in the 50s, it's standard fare nowadays.

Given the similarities the plots, you can count Independence Day as an updated version.
