A very Similar movie

Somewhere I've read a synopsis or brief review of a movie that's very much like this, only the secluded valley is populated only by children. There's still the mutants (or what not) on the outside just like in this one.
Does this ring a bell with anyone?

(I'm pretty sure it was a movie but it could have been a book, but I don't think so. Any help will be appreciated.)

Hi,one can never be too rich or have too many friends. That sounds like a Star Trek episode where they landed on another planet that looked like Earth but it was empty except for a handful of children and there were monsters outside. Turns out the monsters were the children as they grew up. Kinda creepy.

You know, I never even thought about that episode. I still think it was something different though.

It likely was an independent or foriegn film (if that is any help).

Thanks anyway.

When the children reached puberty, they turned into the monsters. The kids referred to the monsters as "grups." "Grups"="Grown ups."

Michael Pollard(?) was one of the main kids who tried to kill Kirk & Company. He was Little Foss to Robert Redford's Big Halsey and also part of the Bonnie and Clyde gang.

I saw the topic of the thread and I thought you all would be talking about "On the Beach" which isn't a horror flick, it's just plain horrifying. I had to read it in high school and I watched the old black & white back during the '80s during the Cold War and I thought I would slit my wrists. Wow, it's heavy.
