My Fourteen Year Old Son's Review Is Dead-On, IMO

My family loves this film, which we came upon by chance years ago. I was in the library and I happened to see this on the shelf and I thought "Danny Kaye in a musical comedy - I'll check this out!" Well, soon after that I bought it and we've had it on DVD ever since. My fourteen year old has grown up loving it and as we watched it last night he suddenly said, "This is such a great movie! For what this movie wants to do, it's pretty much perfect!"

I think that's pretty accurate - it really does everything it wants to.

"My, that Veta Louise certainly is a whirlwind, isn't she?"

reply

Agreed, that review sums up the movie perfectly.

I love the tongue twister dialogue in the "duchess and the doge" scene. And of course the "pellet with the poison" scene.
