One of the funniest movies ever made

Hm, I don't understand why any people doesn't like the movie.

The Court Jester is a parody of any sword movie where had been very popular in that time. But the main reference of course is "The Adventures of Robin Hood" with Errol Flynn from 1939. Even Basil Rathbone is spoofing himself.

This movie is a true treasure of intelligent dialogues. Even the opening credit is masterpice.

And not to forget "...the vessel with the pestle"... a true masterpice of great comedy dialogues.

The Art Direction (of course, its made in a studio and quite different from a realistic look like the movies have today) but they're great and the colors looks wonderful. The movie was filmed in Vista Vision so when ever (AND I HOPE THRULY) comes out on Blu-Ray, it would looks wonderful (restored).

Who doesn't like this movie? Of course there may be some, but it's a wonderful film full of clever and hilarious moments. Danny Kaye is sensational in it. 9/10.

I'm glad IMDB is showing a rating of 8, which is excellent, but most people do not know this movie. I was appalled it was far down at 98 on AFI comedy list. Ridiculous. One of the very greatest comedies ever.

Lots of people like it. It wouldn't have an 8 out of 10 rating on here if they didn't.

I saw this movie as a boy and loved it. Seen it again, somewhat older, and love it more.

Danny Kaye was brilliant. What a cast! Basil Rathbone was his usual greater than great self. Glynnis Johns, never more beautiful and true.

The sets! The costumes! The music! Brilliant!
