I know a source where one can get a VHS copy of this movie. Likely to be of good quality. I've dealt with this particular collector before (once) with positive results. He advertises monthly in Classic Images magazine, and has been doing so for a long time. Cost is $14.95 per title, plus $3 shipping.

Both his ad and catalog state "All Titles are Shipped on a T-120 at SP - On A Good Quality Blank!" When I ordered just one movie from him, he sent me his catalog/ list of available titles (1,750 +) for free. It's organized well and fun to read -- if one is interested in obscure movies, mainly from the 1930s and 1940s.

Based on reading good things about this movie from several sources (especially Ann Sheridan's own words about it, from a recent Films of the Golden Age article) I've decided to order this particular title from him.

If you haven't ruled out getting a VHS copy, and are interested in further details, e-mail me at "[email protected]" and put the title of this movie in Subject line.

Thanks.

David

One place you can buy this movie is I Offer. Don't use movieguy. There is only one other that sells it. I have also ordered a copy from Video Hotline the cost is $49.95 shipping included.

The cost is high but if you want a movie bad enough, their great. The one from I Offer is a pretty good copy. Night scenes are more difficult. Matt Ballot left 9 years ago, not 12. He left as a punk kid, and came back a man. And if you like Steve Cochran, You might like. Of Love and Desire.
That one will cost you $49.95, use the number above. Video Hotline only deals in rare classic movies.

A few years ago I ordered a VHS copy of it because I love this movie so and couldn't find it elsewhere. But it's a bad copy, blurred and muddy, and so I never watch it....and have never tried again from a different vendor. This film never seems to appear on tv, not on TCM or any old movie site; not sure who has the rights to it. I wish it would become available on DVD.
