Is this film availabe today?
I would like to watch (and buy) this film. Sadly there is no sign of it at Amazon. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, I'd never heard of it either until the brilliant interview with Harry Belafonte last night on BBC Radio 4.
Although it sounds like it was a politically significant document of the time, it looks like 'the consumer' will be denied a chance. Just because the Apartheid regime was eventually broken, does that really mean that filmed evidence of Africa's struggle is no longer of use anywhere? No!
And another reason I'd like this released again: I would love to see Miriam Makeba's first appearance on screen. And I know quite a few people who love to see "Mama Africa" honoured too.
