'Is she in trouble?' - WTF?

Folks couldn't decide to do without all that nonsense without other people's dirty minds at work?

I could never understand people's spending a fortune on weddings when they have no place to live or no furniture if they do.

Don't even get me started on these spoiled modern-day Bridezillas who all need a boot in the rear!

I know exactly what you mean. My sister paid for her big wedding, and so did my brother. He went all out and rented the Hilton ballroom in Houston for the reception. The bride didn't have to pay for anything.

The bride family is suppose to pay for the weddings ,its been a tradition since weddings began....

I know. In this instance, the bride didn't have any money. My brother at the time was a NASA scientist, so he had the money to pay for his own wedding.

They are no longer just weddings. They are productions. There's casting, costumes, rehearsals, props, entertainment..etc. Then there is the competitive "Keeping Up With the Jones'" mentality that a bride's wedding must top the others in impressing others. It is often that more planning, thought and effort are put in the wedding than is ever considered for the marriage.

Been with my partner 32 yrs and finally have the right to be married. We started thinking about all these wedding factors. Gonna elope.

Congratulations to you on being able to marry after 32 years of being together. I wish you all the best.

It was like that in my old neighbourhood.

Then again most of my friends were married by the time they were 20 with a child on the way. "Contraception" was not a commonly used word in Catholic circles in the 1960s.
