It was fabulous! Saw it last Thursday and it was wonderful, particularly the actor who portrayed Billy Bigelow and the actress who was Cary Snow. Very very good show.

I saw it on Saturday (it was my father's birthday present). Quite excellent! A few rather unusual staging decisions...after Billy draws his knife to stab himself, the cops shoot him, yet there are still references to him having "killed himself". I guess if you count it as suicide-by-cop...

Also, the Starkeeper is the one who accompanies Billy to earth. He *gives* Billy the star rather than Billy stealing it. When it's time for Dr. Selden to give his speech, the Starkeeper simply sheds his robe to reveal his suit and walks up to the podium.

Still, those unusual decisions didn't take away from the production. The guy who plays Billy is just PHENOMENAL.

This will be the last weekend, so catch it if you can!

A side note...in a production I saw years ago, there was a bit of business at the end I loved. As the last notes of "You'll Never Walk Alone" sounded, Billy turned to head back to Heaven. Dr. Selden/Starkeeper stopped him and handed him back the star, smiling. Billy took the star, headed toward the back of the house and held the star up triumphantly as the last note sounded.
