Where is Louise Bigelow?

I think precisely what happens to Louise in the future is not important to the storyline. What is important, is that no matter what does happen to her, with her father's encouragement, she realizes that she has the strength to go on with life even though she has to face the prejudice and scorn of those around her. I think after realizing this, she knows that running away to join the circus instead of facing her problems isn't the answer. What's important is that Billy makes sure that she will not become a carbon-copy of himself, and make the same mistakes.

I couldn't tell you precisely what happened to Susan Luckey. But if I recall, when I watched the bonus features on the Music Man DVD a couple years ago, she was featured in some interviews. As it's been a while, I can't remember if they got into what she went on to do later in life, but If you're able to track down that DVD it may shed some light on your question. I agree, she was quite talented in both movies.

From the little I've read, she got married and the trail seems to end there. I thought she was charming in Carousel.

I'm very saddened to learn of Susan Luckey's passing. I found her spellbinding as Louise, and I wish she'd appeared in more films. May she rest in peace.
