I thought this was such a great film, ver similar to I WANT TO LIVE (1958). La Dors was a great actress and Yvonne Mitchell is incredibly touching as a sympathetic prison guard.

I actually thought her acting was right up there with Susan Hayward's in I Want To Live! ALmost similar to how Charlize Theron portrayed her character in Monster...you somehow had sympathy for these ladies even though they had committed crimes. That's a good actress.

Yes, I find that you sympathise with the Dors character even though she shows no remorse at all for her crime, a good actress indeed.

This movie has it all. It's beautiful, sexy, thought-provoking, and most of all, it has one of the greatest performances by an actress that I've ever seen. Should be much, much more popular.

The script could have been better, but the rest of it is perfect

I had the same thought.. And you even get the line "I want to live" towards the end.
