Things I noticed on the Bluray copy

You can easily see a fishing line attached to the balloon, like when Pascal goes to the trolley stop the 2nd time (and has to let the balloon fly away). And a piece of scotch tape is on top of it. You can see this as we see the balloon following the trolley along the street (at the beginning).

When Pascal is walking home from school in the rain and sees the mounted policemen on horseback, the last horse is taking a dump on the street as it walks by. LOL.

I finally noticed that when the balloon sinks down before the boy steps on it, you can see the fishing line attached to the thick white string, to make it go towards the ground. I wonder if that scene was even planned because you can't "control" how a balloon dies. It either pops or gets grazed by a stone and becomes brittle. I will never understand how that happened. Its a good long minute at least. They probably wanted it to pop but it didn't.

I also noticed the harness attached to Pascal within the bunch of balloons at the end.

When the boys are in the alley following Pascal there is water flowing down the cobblestone street.

Sort of OT but I don't know how they did some of the shots of the balloons flying around Paris at the end. The only ones I can figure out are all of them floating along the street (on wire, obviously) and when we see all of them float down towards Pascal. They clearly reversed a shot of helium balloons actually flying AWAY. But it's a good trick especially for 1956.
