Paul Fix/Richard Bravo

Despite the heavy-handed direction, (I think all actors could have benefited from a more refined direction), I like this movie.

But the biggest trough in the whole production is the thankless role of Richard Bravo. Surely his role could have been accentuated. As is, the role of a "famous writer", who adopted a child of a murderer, is bland and one-dimensional, when it really could have been interesting, conflicted, and emotive. I would have loved to have seen his inner uncertainty in the scene when he reveals his daughter's origins, and I would have loved to see him show some dichotomy of feeling while waiting to see if his daughter will recover.

Just playing the stoic, although warm fatherly figure is quite empty and doesn't add anything to the exceptional performances of Patty McCormack, Eileen Heckert, and Henry Jones.
