Who Would You Cast In A Re-Make

I was wondering, if the movie were to be re-made who in todays actors and actresses would you cast in it? I will ask first and then see what the response is before telling who I would.

Dunno, only watched it once on cable just tonight- but the little emcee for the show said that it was actually a remake from 1939- unless you did a retro version of it, a modern version wouldn't work- not with radar and cell phones.

I would say that this movie has been remade in a way with the Anaconda movies- people stuck in the jungle with something that wants to kill them and they have to fix something / get supplies to leave...

If there was more love in the world, there'd probably be a lot less dyin'.

remake and have the cellphones go out or have it set in the time of the original or the first remake.

Cell phones are worthless in the Amazon, fwiw. A Satellite phone would be the only way to communicate, and few carry those around.

Apparently the mystery of your remake recasting will never be revealed.

Anyway, there is no reason for any of these current remakes, it's just sloth and lack of creativity.

Also, the TV show "Lost" pretty much covers the genre, as well as tons of "castaway" movies since. There's nothing particularly unique about this story, the genre will be flogged for all it's worth until the end of time.

Do they make engines the same way today? Do they carry onboard compressed oxygen? Can you pull a cylinder and weld a crack with it?

Pretty much would have to be a period piece.

It will never be remade - no opportunity for explosions and special effects except for the plane crash.
