in the nursery

I'm slightly puzzled. Maybe I saw an incomplete version of the film. Thing is, folks in these posts talk about Vacarro having seduced Baby Doll. I take 'seduce' here to mean 'deflower'. But the way I saw it, their clothing and postures and so on when Archie Lee came back were just the same as when they went into the nursery. The implication being that Vacarro really did just have a siesta and hear a lullaby and feel a touch of cool fingers (and maybe some warmer kisses). Though there was like he said a certain mutual attraction, which might well mean she'll be his if he wants her... Did I miss something? Of course if Archie Lee incorrectly believes his long-awaited birthday present has had its ribbons untied and contents enjoyed by another man, well, it's unlikely to grieve Vacarro overmuch.

Naturally Archie Lee might very soon be in a position to put it to the test. Emphasis on 'might' though.

No, I feel the same thing you said happened.

He had a peaceful siesta with Baby Doll and that was all. He kissed her latter in the dining room...never got to first base with her.

love this old southern movie

Nobody got seduced. That's what makes it so sexy, the way they have this incredible attraction, but they don't do anything except a couple of controlled kisses.

I totally agree. He "awakened" her, but there wasn't a good opportunity to put that attraction to good use...yet.
