Is the Date 1956 for the release of this film?

I have been trying to have this date of film release checked for accuracy for some time now. I clearly remember seeing this film before 1956 at a theater in New York City named Astor on Broadway and 46th or 47th Street before 1953 because I married my husband that year. I was accompanied by a current boyfriend at that time and I am absolutely sure that were I married at that time I would not have seen the film with anyone other than my husband. Please if anyone can support my claim of this film being released before l956, I would appreciate it tremendously!

I do believe that there is the possiblity that the film may have been re-released in 1956 and thereby would be the reason for it being tagged as the first release date. Thanks for anyone who can clear this matter up.

You might be thinking of "Sudden Fear" (1952) with Jack Palance.

Best thing to do is check the "Box Office/Business" page

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0048967/business

In this case, you'll see it was filmed during the Fall of 1955, ending around Thanksgiving.

Another clue that this film was new in 1956 is in the release date section. It seems as though it's first-ever showing was at the Berlin International Film Festival in June 1956. I think I'm right in saying that they would only show brand new films there. So this is definitely not a re-release I would say.

You must be thinking of a different movie. This one wasn't even in the process of filming yet in 1952 or 1953.
