DO NOT SEE THIS

If you are in any way a fan of Cole Porter, DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE!!! The way they changed the song 'Anything Goes' can only be described as blasphemous and the biggest injustice to music. In fact for most of the songs they shouldn't even credit Cole Porter at all since they're altered drastically from his original songs. After changing the lyrics of 'Anything Goes' the song doesn't even make sense. 'Blow, Gabriel Blow' was also a horrible let down which is a tremendous disappointment since it is also a fantastic song. Someone else mentioned this and I agree, if you're a fan of the stage play then don't waste your time on this since it is nothing like it and shouldn't even claim to be based off of it.

Doctor: Is that the sort of man I am now? Am I rude? Rude and not ginger.

I agree it's quite dire. I had heard that it wasn't a great movie but there was no spark, the pace was leaden, the actors looked bored (why change the characters names also?) and the direction uninspiring. One of the worst stage to movie musical adaptations. A criminal waste of talent; and there is an unwritten law you don't fool around with Cole Porter songs.
