Does anyone know of other movies like "23 Paces to Baker Street"? Not just movies that are in the mystery/suspense genre, but movies that have a similar "feel" to them as this (take place in London, where there are foggy nights, quaint neighborhood pubs, anonymous calls made in red phone booths, etc)?

The only other one I can think of is "Midnight Lace." And then if I'm really stretching things, possibly "Dial M for Murder" and "Frenzy."

It seems like there must be a lot of movies like "23 Paces to Baker Street," but I can't think of what they'd be, and I'd love to rent/buy them.

Hitchcock's Stage Fright - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0042994/synopsis

Gideon's Day - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0051655/

These two films have some similarities, London thrillers with traditional pubs.

Try also:

The Blue Lamp
The Ladykillers (not Tom hanks version!)
Lost (50's film - quite rare)
Dance with a Stranger
10 Rillington Place
The Long Arm (my fave)
Bunny Lake is Missing
Sapphire (interesting racially orientated film)

Not all involve fog but are set most or partly in London.

Baker Street might be a clue, 221B to be precise.

Surprised there's been no mention of 'Footsteps in the Fog', made around the same time.

If you don't insist on the fog, try Gary Cooper's last movie (with Deborah Kerr), filmed in London: "The Naked Edge". It's very good.

Take a look at "The Notorious Landlady."
