The look and colour of this film

Can anyone help me on identifying what it is that gives this film, and others in the 50s -especially Hitchcock ones- the very specific warm look to the colours and images? I thought it might be the laboratory or the cinematographic process (you see them listed under "Technical Specifications") but they vary from film to film.

Thanks

It's Technicolour! I don't know much about the process itself, but I sometimes wish the real world looked like it did in lovely old fifties films like this one.

You can find out more about Technicolour here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technicolor

Thanks. I did wonder if it was that, but when the word itself didn't come up under "technical specs" I thought it might be something else.

It made everything look so mellow!
