GSN: Bring back original episodes!!!

GSN used to show these all the time and had a huge backlog of episodes--more than a decade of primetime *and* daytime shows. Great panelists and fans can still play along (provided their memories aren't that good). (Also fun to spot, long-ago "nobodies"--like Rod McKuen and Cicely Tyson--as both contestants and imposters.) So why make us suffer thru another round of What's My Line (give the poor show a rest) or the insufferable The Name's The Same. Better yet, how about airing stuff that hasn't been seen in years--Play Your Hunch, Truth or Consequences, etc.?

An update: GSN has begun airing "To Tell the Truth" on its "Black and White Overnight" feature.

It's great to see TTTT back; and good to see The Name's The Same gone (altho I'll miss seeing Joan Alexander).

reply

Maybe when they are done with these airings, they will show "I've Got A Secret".

reply

That's what they were showing before THE NAME'S THE SAME.

As long as they don't show the lame BEAT THE CLOCK

WML is a vastly more intelligent, dynamic, and entertaining show, but TTTT is an okay runner up.

GSN needs to run some of the sixties/seventies series of both though. The 50s are still the best, but they could have a rest.

And why not put them on in the late afternoon, early evening? Wee hours time slot is stupid, the shows deserve better - they are much better than bingo, feuds, millionaire, etc.

Episodes are now being televised on the sub-digital channel "BUZZR", which is also available OTA in most larger TV markets.

reply

I'm sorry, but what is OTA? Thank you.

reply

OTA is... Over The Air (rabbit ears). But very frustrating, cause they only play the same 15(?) episodes. Over & over again :(

BUZZR keeps repeating the same 30 or so episodes over and over. This is the case for most of the game shows that they are currently airing.
