Hello,
I do not know if you will see this or not, but I figured I'll post it anyway. The episode your Uncle appeared in was on March 20, 1963. Here are a few web sites where you may be able to find the actual footage of your Uncle:
THE MUSEUM OF BROADCAST COMMUNICATIONS
http://www.museum.tv
UCLA FILM CATALOG
http://cinema.library.ucla.edu/cgi-bin/Pwebrecon.cgi?DB=local&PAGE=First
The Museum of Broadcast Communications can make a copy of the episode if they have it; however, written permission is required from the copyright owner of The Steve Allen Show. You can search for the copyright holder on the U.S. Copyright Office web site or you can choose to call them up. (http://www.copyright.gov/) As for the UCLA, they do have a copy of the show. Just go the UCLA Film Catalog, select "CREDITS SEARCH" and enter your uncle's name. Although the UCLA does not allow copies to be made, you can go see the episode at their building in LA if you live in the LA area.
Best of luck,
Matt.
