How does this episode compare with the movie starring Spencer Tracy. This episode has Melvyn Douglas whom I like better than Tracy.

I've never seen it but Melvyn Douglas did not play the Tracy role of Judge Haywood. It was played by Claude Rains, who I have heard was very good in the part. No doubt though, Melvyn Douglas was an actor of depth who could also have played the role. I think he played Richard Widmark's role of the American Prosecutor.

Thanks for the info. P-90 was my favorite "all story ended" series in the '50s.

Finally got a copy last week. Within the limitations of being a mostly live program, it was very good. Paul Lukas was outstanding as Janning; he had the weary, broken gravitas lacking in Burt Lancaster;s portrayal. Plus, he had an accent!
