playhouse 90 - requiem for a heavyweight

i first heard about this years ago as rod serling mentions it in the twilight zone series, cause it features the same actor as in the episode "one for the angels", and recently i realised jack palance was starring in it, and someone calling this palance's greatest performance. the story is quite similar to the twilight zone episode "the big tall wish", but without the super natural twist at the end. funny this 1950's tv play is among the favorite things ive seen recently, it only runs for a bit over an hour, but i could have kept following this guy's story for a long time. also recognise the actor from the twilight zone episode "a world of his own".

mannequins with glassy eyes,
at a street gone haywire,
i came by to wave hello,
but couldn't find a soul,
behind the plastic and silicon,
walkin by a church steeple,
looking for real people,
hoping you'll stay tomorrow,
and not wander off into a shopping window.
