Name of House

Does anyone know how to spell the name of the house - sounds like Arben Bloom?

reply

I believe it's : Arden Bloom

reply

I think it might be Abendblum (evening bloom)

reply

Yeah, I heard "Abendblum" (evening flower) too, but doesn't Hayward say, after he's said it, "Yes, Moonflower!" ?

Treacle! but pretty girls and a strangely intriguing pre-civilized outlook on the part of the blithe, broadly-painted, white folk. Why do they all have Ami accents, though?

reply

Well, that would be mondblum. Maybe the writers didn't know what it meant! I don't know, I think it was abendblum. Take care, Blanche

I believe the name of the house is posted on a gate post or sign near the entrance in the film, but one has to focus on it quickly. About 40 years ago I read the book, which mentioned the name, of course, but I cannot put my hands on my copy right now.

I always understood the name of the house was ABEN BLOEM.
I adore this film - one of my all time favourites. Susan Hayward
was stunning to look at in this and Tyrone Power was good too.

Just finished watching.....it was called "Abendblume" (the moonflower)
