How did Tom Bryan get that massive machine gun on the train without arousing suspicion?

Why did Juan Castro let Pablo go after betraying him towards the end?

What happened to Ruth and the other revolutionaries who were captured? Did they all get executed?

Tom Bryan hid his machine gun in a case for a large string instrument.

Ruth was deported and everyone else presumably shot.
