Murphy was a war hero and I like war films but watching this on tv it seems awful.
Of course Murphy can't act but everything else is wrong about the film.
It screams 1950s Hollywood.
Every battle takes place in bright sunshine,all the uniforms look brand new and none of it looks like europe?
Yeah. Bad acting, bad script.
I realize it's supposed to historical but there's zero drama. We already know that Audey Murphy survives so there's nothing to fight for or care about.
Humour is also really bad. The constant punchline about the guy who had a girl back home and guys who don't want to get promoted are painful to watch.
No, it's not awful at all. I thought it was pretty good and worth watching.
