3rd Infantry Division Patch
Was it accurate for the G.I.s to wear all the prominent 3rd I.D. insignia on helmets and shoulders when in combat? These men were infantry on the front lines, not headquarters personnel.
shareNo, not really. They didn't wear rank, either. Hollywood has officers with their rank on their helmet...nothing says "Shoot me!" to a enemy sniper like having your rank on display like that.
