name of Grable's character???

Although last name of Betty's character is never spoken nor appears on a poster or marquee, when the "bigamy" (or whatever you want to call it) issue arises, all the newspaper headlines about the scandal in montage refer to her as Broadway star "Julie Lowndes"--the last name of her "late" husband's writing partner whom married her after first husband reportedly died just a few years earlier.

Clearly that could not have been the stage name by which was known to the public and newspaper readers while he was still alive, and it seems unlikely she would have changed her name so soon after her beloved first husband supposedly died.

Furthermore, even if she had been so callous as to change names (which rarely happened back then), her first husband would have noticed it on marquee when he went to theater and was reunited with her, clearly unaware she had remarried.
