Worth Watching?

I read the other post were someone had said you dont see the tarantula for long. This would be my reason for watching this film. I love the way giant insects look in these sorts of films. I was thinking about trying to get it cheap of ebay. Is it worth it?

Here, here! A great movie. Hopefully, it will available in DVD here in the US soon. But I do have it on VHS.

Terrible, just terrible!

Was your DVD part of a packaged deal with other 50's sci-fi?

Cheers!

I think it's worth getting. The movie moves at a good pace, and the special effects of the giant spider are actually quite amazing, done by David S. Horsley and Clifford Stine.

because of all the light spoofs of movies like these and motive on the 1993 comedy matinee it's hard to know if this should be taken seriously or not, especially since it was made by a major movie production company, there were many b movies like these, but universal had previously made some of the most iconic horror pictures in history, i'm reminded of the line from the "bela lugosi" role in ed wood (1994) where he says "today it's all about giant bugs", by the way, there was an old horror movie about spiders that in my country got translated to ant🐜 i think this might have been it airing on tv a while back titled ants. this is no doubt well made though, and you've got to love flicks from the 1950's, right before movies began to get out of hand, the way people look and act, the cars, with that amazing neat dialogue, and some amazing dialogue this has, throw in some of that new little richard rock n roll and you got a movie, man, can you believe there was such a time with all the nonsense today, i get why "back to the future" picked this era, in fact they travelled to this very year. there seemed to be some under acting going on when the sheriff touched the shoulder in the desert, as well as the guy at the end seeing the monster for the first time to believe it, spoiler follows, and what's up at the end with the sad faces. the back of the dvd has some neat artwork that never takes place in the actual movie. here you've got a spider peeking through a window instead of frankenstein's monster, and i guess just to add to it they had the scientist, spoiler, turn into a monster too. it's a mix of outrageous unintentional fun and sickening if you have a fear of spiders.
