How do you know that? The credits of the film do not give any information about the song. It probably existed before the movie. Otherwise it would have been nominated for an Academy Award. We hear the melody all through the film. Beautiful. Thank you Teresa.

Just click on 'Soundtrack listing' in left hand column of the film's main page ...

Such an evocative tune ... takes me back to Venice every time I hear it. Wonderful film .

I'll tell you how he might know that--I play the piano, and i bought a copy of the sheet music. His information is correct, and it was written for this film.
