Some excellent aerial cinematography

The plot and acting in this movie are basic and passable, I have no problem with either but can't say I remember much about either of the them. What I do remember from the first time I viewed this movie which started me on a 50 year fascination with airplanes was the cinematography of the planes flying all over the world. Unlike numerous movies where a plane (or more precisely, a model of a plane) is filmed and then that film is superimposed over film of a plane flying (i.e. - Dr. Strangelove) to Alaska or wherever, they actually filmed these huge bombers and fighters flying on several long distance missions all over the planet. This, combined with the musical score, still sends chills up my spine very time I view it. I know some of the shots in the movie are staged models (Stewart landing at Kadena being one), but on a whole this is one of the greatest movies for showing some of the most spectacular flying that our Air Force/SAC did in the 1950's. That alone should make it a must see for even the most casual aviation enthusiast.
