na, imperialism didnt make Africa the way it is, was clearly always a giant slaughterhouse..the fact that we showed up late in the peace just means we provided the self-loathing western Left with a scapegoat and blame deflection for the way they are there.
From THEIR POV, best thing that could have happened to them was to remain western colonies...but of course there is no going back to that, unfortunately for most of them.

Absolute garbage. Mali was peaceful until France decided they wanted to grab the uranium deposits there. Suddenly there was a coup (conveniently when the elected president was out of town - an even more conveniently, just ONE DAY after Mali signed a larges trade deal with China) - when the people protested, just as suddenly 'terrorists' (actually, NATO trained troops plus CIA mercs in disguise) came which enabled the coup leaders to ask their foreign paymasters in France to come in. EVERY TIME a foreign multi-national company comes into town, people lose their livelihood and the majority there are worse off. BTW, after Sudan was partitioned into North and South Sudan, South Sudan (which still has foreign interests warring over the oil there) is at war - while the Muslim North may be poorer - but is completely peaceful. Gee, westerners leave a place and SUDDENLY there's no fighting? Heck of a coincidence!

You yourself just as one example have pointed out that South Sudan no sooner got independence,the off-tune trumpets blared, the silly multicolored flags flapped- and it immediately descended into civil war.
Africa is a slaughterhouse coast to coast, so is the middle-east. They always have been, and into foreseeable future, will be. It's because of themselves.None of them were ready to form modern states.They are hopeless.And when they immigrate into the West,they are always little else but trouble for the host countries.
