out of all the 40s-50s classic beauties, which charactor do you prefer?
for me its always going to be sissi, what a natural beauty. close to the nature, innocient, love for life, like a breath of fresh air.....
sissi--- sissi
princess ann ---- roman holiday
scarlet--- gone with the wind
Ilsa Lund ---- casablanca
and the list goes on............
sissi was like a fairy tale, but real fairy tales never have happy endings...
1. Ilsa (because of the tragic ending)
2. Ann (because she is so charming)
3. Scarlett (always kind of annoyed me. but at least she has got brains)
4. Sissi (she is stupid and this movie seems so false)

Scarlett--she's the best character ever written.
Sissi--she was a rebel and reminds me of Princess Diana
Princess Ann--because of Audrey Hepburn playing her with such emotional worth
Ilsa-she's a washout. Too clingy and dependent on men.

Don't know the others. The real Sissi is not very good looking, in the movie she is prettier than the real Sissi but she has a very strange shaped face.

Scarlett - far and away. Not because of how she was written, but what Leigh made her.
Sissi - I could go on an endless rant about how much it manipulated German women in the 50ies, how much it harmed Romy Schneider, and the list of why all three movies were/are downright horrific is endless. But, Schneider totally nailed that part.
Lisa Lund - I'm still not quite sure if she actually has a mind of her own or not. :o
Elisabeth of Austria was actually considered the most beautiful European woman of her time. Very bad teeth though with no dental skills available to help back then, hence no portaits of her with the slightest of smiles, that might give a wrong impression looking at them now.
