RAINY SATURDAY AFTERNOONS IN THE 1970S

This is one of these films which when I think of it takes me back to rainy Saturday afternoons in the late 1970s/early 1980s.

The BBC often showed old British films, often Ealing productions on Saturday afternoons.

This one was often on and I like it.

It seems like a slight story but it is well made and well acted.

Hopefully it will come out on dvd soon and I can see if I still like it.

The BBC shows fewer British films nowadays,I think it shows fewer films full stop but CHANNEL 4 shows some old British films for usv to enjoy.

I think the director Basil Dearden has been unjustly ignored when people rave about Ealing films.

COMbbc has been a corporate zombie since the late 80s and Channel 4 advert interruptions are nearly as bad as those on COMbbc. watch it on dvd.

Rainy Saturday afternoons was the time to get the Scalextric out of the attic.
