'Some like it Hot' or 'The Seven Year Itch'?

Both directed by Billy Wilder and both starring Marilyn Monroe. For me, "Some like it Hot" wins; but it's a close call. I think the final line of that film clinched it for me. Best ending line in film history.

Some Like It Hot, without a doubt.

Some Like it Hot comes second for me, just barely.

I love both movies, but Some Like It Hot gets my vote.

Both are masterpieces, but The Seven Year Itch is my favourite. A perfect comedy with perfect actors.

Marilyn in Technicolor before she was screwed up by the Strasbergs.

Actually, the color was by DeLuxe (and looks pretty good, considering). Technicolor would have been great.

Oh dear.
Some Like it Hot was a million times better.
The jokes are still as effective today.
The Seven Year Itch just seemed too dated.

Last movie watched:
Mulholland Drive 10/10

seven year itch by a long way for me. i didn't find some like it hot that funny. it had funny moments, but not of the same calibre as seven year itch.

Some Like It Hot is my favourite overall as a movie, but I love Marilyn's performance in the Seven Year Itch.

SYI for me. Marilyn was in her physical prime and as someone else noted it was before the Strasbergs got to her!

Some Like It Hot....Just saw 'Seven Year Itch' for the first time the other night, so maybe it will 'grow on me'....

I enjoyed the Seven Year Itch but really prefer Some Like It Hot. It's funnier, a bit more daring, in my opinion.

They are both good!
I like Some Like it Hot more as a movie
But Marilyn's performance was better in The Seven Year Itch

Seven Year Itch. It was the first classic film that I remember seeing when I was young. It got me interested in other classics. My first reaction to Some Like it Hot wasn't as good. I thought it was too silly. I love it now though.

There's no contest: "The Seven Year Itch" - Marilyn at her prime in Technicolor, CinemaScope and 20th Century Foxy!
