How did HE Win the Golden Globe, and SHE wasn't even nominated??

Tom EWell wins the Best Actor Comedy Globe, yet Marilyn Monroe wasn't even nominated. I understand her reputation for being difficult to work with- but seriously. What were the voters thinking?? No one remembers him at all in this movie and he's actually miscast. She's the only reason to watch it. 1955 was one of the worst years for awards ceremonies.

I love Marilyn, but I also think Tom Ewell was pretty damn good in this.
