Jack lambert

It's been years since I've seen the film, but I seem remember veteran bad guy actually playing a good guy for a change. Richard Limparski(?) tried to interview him for one of his Whatever Happened to...? books and Lambert refused along the lines of "I don't give a...if people know where I am. I know where I am, and that's what counts."

The commentary on How The West Was Won points out Rudy Acosta and Harry Dean Stanton as members of Eli Wallach's gang, but for some reason neglects to mention Lambert. Very interesting combination of actors.

Well, he was about as good-guy as Jack Lambert could be. He still took part in shooting at innocent men, a lynching (for which he earned a $10 fine), and badmouthing the sheriff (for which he earned a Cagney right-hander).
