50's nightclub music?

As the one reviewer said, "They should have given the guy with the guitar some better songs to sing." The music sounded like 50s nightclub music, something Dean Martin or Frank Sinatra would sing in a nightclub in Vegas, not some cowboy music being sung around a campfire. I think I heard that song in an autentico ristorante Italiano the other day (/sarc). Granted, Tony Romano was wooing the girl when he was singing it, but it was still way out of time with the era.

And who the heck was the girl, Sylvia Findley, and what the heck was she doing as the central female attraction in a movie with so many heavy-hitters? She was OK-looking, nothing special. Not a bad actress. But this role should have been played by a wholesome type that filled so many similar western roles of the era (sister or daughter of the ailing rancher), like Dorothy Malone or Virginia Mayo. But then again, maybe the studios were trying to field a new starlet (if so, they failed, as she only acted in two movies in her short but illustrious career).

Come see a fat old man sometime!

Speaking of women, how about Julie London??? I'm about to go into a Julie London phase. I'm gonna get (try to get...) every movie she made. Working from memory here (my memory is NOT what it was,) She was Hot! My drill sergeant at Ft. Bliss was obsessed with Julie London. Someday he was going to meet her. **** her, well you get the idea. Sgt. Gingriss was sick about Julie London. I'm gonna find out if she was really that cool. John
