Clint Eastwood: 60 years in show biz

March 29, 2015 will mark the 60th anniversary of this film's release. Since this was Clint Eastwood's first film, it will also mean the 60th anniversary of his show business career. And his newest film, AMERICAN SNIPER, is up for an Oscar for Best Picture (and has five other noms). What a way to honor the anniversary. Surely a first for someone who's reached this milestone. (Did Mickey Rooney get an Oscar nom for his 60th year in show biz? I didn't think so.)

Yes, that's pretty incredible. 60 years active in Hollywood and he's got directed a movie about Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger, the hero of the Hudson River, which is currently in post-production. It's due to be released in 2016 and has a strong cast led by Tom Hanks, Laura Linney, and Aaron Eckhart.
