If that was a real bird that the creature dragged down to eat in the beginning?

It certainly looked real.

oh yes... birds don't get any more real than that one. Different times, different ethics. Poor bird.

It did look real, but I've heard nothing about it being actually killed. It likely was just pulled down and then released and then it's trainer got it.
