blood

Just watched this tonight - again. I just read of a possible deleted scene in the beginning, where a gang beats up a guy, and he drops the toy Jim finds. He may have witnessed the beating, explaining his odd behavior *while drunk. I'd never heard this, but thought I noticed blood on the paper he covers the toy with. I wondered what that was about, and the deleted scene made sense.
Also, last week, the 'mother' said on TMC that Dean was the actual director of the movie. She said he 'knew exactly how he wanted the movie to be'. Interesting.

I never noticed it before, I'd have to see it again to know if there was any blood on it but I don't think so.

Nick Ray was the actual director, but he did let Dean have a great deal of input into the movie.
