How can I see this film?!

Has this film been released on DVD in the US? I've looked all over for information about it and can't find anything.

Hi ferdnando,
Unfortunately, La Pointe-Courte is nearly impossible to see. As I have just started a project (my senior thesis) on Agnes Varda, I was very keen on viewing it. Much to my dismay, after consulting with many faculty members, doing internet searches involving WorldCat, and scouring the internet for sources, I found that the only way to view the film is either to 1) attend the University of Pennsylvania, or 2) go to France.
Sorry to give you the bad news!
If you find some other way of seeing it, post again! I'm sure I'm not the only one desperate for it...
Good luck!

right off the bat i want to say that i do not know of a way to see it. i don't want to get anyone's hopes up. but i too am frustratingly eager to view it & i think one of the few methods would be for those in the know to bombard the Criterion Collection with email requests that they obtain the rights to this film & release it forthwith.

It's coming out from Criterion, as part of a boxset of 4 Varda films.
It includes: La Pointe-courte (1956); LeBonheur ... aka Happiness (1965); Cleo from 5 to 7; and Vagabond. The latter two previously released by Criterion.

This is listed as Spine #'s 418-420, so looks like it's probably a January release.
Not on listed on their website under coming soon (which goes thru December), but listed under Varda on the director search:

Will be good to finally see this.
