what a hidden gem of a movie

Great acting from each character, never mind the dated phrases, this is a fine movie that seems way ahead of its time. I for one enjoy looking through a time capsule when life was simpler and more uniform and seemingly more idyllic, yet people were essentially the same deep down inside when it came to love and dreams. But beyond that, it's an age old fable: a stranger rolls into town and forces everyone including himself to face inner longings and admit to unpleasant - or pleasant truths. A serious version of the Music Man perhaps.
