Is it ever explained how Johannes regained his mind as his reappearance at the end of the film as a reasoned, confident man was one of my favorite scenes in the film?

My favorite scene in the movie was the final scene with Johannes returning in his right mind and raising the woman from the dead. What an incredibly powerful scene.

I don't know but he did hit his head on Inger's bed.
