Influences?
Could have this cartoon been partly inspired by the 1950 hit song, "The Thing?"
Could the frog in this cartoon have been the inspiration for Big Bird's playmate Snuffleupagus on "Sesame Street?"
I honestly didn't think anybody else knew about "The Thing" but me and my grandfather. By the way- you do mean "The Thing" by Phil Harris, right? If you do mean that song, it could have been an inspiration, inasmuch as nobody but one guy knows what the frog can do. (What's a "bum-bup-bum?")
According to my grandfather, his radio station as a kid held a contest to see who could come up with the best answer as to "What is the Thing?" Somebody won by saying "my mother in law."
