One Desire on DVD or Video?

I have seen this film as a child and it has been haunting me since. I would love to watch again but as far as I know it has never been released on dvd or video (despite the top-notch-cast). Does anybody know about a release or has a private copy of the film? I would love to get hold of it.
Another question: Is my recollection correct that the ending involves a new casino, set up by Baxter, which is going to be called "The Pink Palace" and which is burned in the end when it catches sparks from the opposite house, in which Julie Adams is burned to death? (It's been a long time since I've watched it...)

Yes, your recollection is correct. That's exactly what happened. I watched this as a child too and the scene where Julie Adams burns to death gave me nightmares. I don't know where you can get a DVD or VHS of it but it is on cable TV sometimes -- check the Turner Classic Movie listings.

I third the motion. I remember seeing this as a child on either "Million Dollar Movie" or "The 4:30 Movie" and it's been haunting me, too. I just figured out the name of the film...vaguely remembered some things, but the fire, especially. Would love a copy of this or a heads-up for when it will be on next!

A wide screen copy has been released in Spain. Try Ebay.es or starscafe.com. It is a PAL, region 2 dvd. Cheers, Mike
