It hurt watching Dick York

I cringed during the scenes where Dick York does that "Charlie Brown trying to kick the football" and kept falling and landing on his back. I looked to see if it was him or a stunt double and it really looked like he was taking the beating. Later when he was on Bewitched, his back troubles were so persistent he had to leave the show (which is why Dick Seargent replaced him). I wonder if this film exacerbated his back problem?

York's back problem didn't occur until he was involved in an accident involving lumber falling off a train on the location set of They Came to Cordura, filmed four or five years later. Still, this is painful to watch.

He's such a badass in this movie. I love him. I'm disappointed his Wreck didn't get a solo, though, like in Wonderful Town.

Agreed, he is a badass in this movie. The first time I saw him take that fall, I felt it, as if I was in a roller coaster 

Mag, Darling, you're being a bore.
