Wow! They still had steamers in '55?

I loved steam locomotives. We used to hang out at the yard (an area called Smoky Oval) and watch the locomotives take on coal from the elevator. You couldn't stay there too long or you'd suffocate. I don't know how the people who lived across the street survived. But that was long gone by '55. The last steamer I rode behind was on the Jersey Central in '53.
