DVD?

Do you think they will ever bring this movie out on dvd? I have seen some bootlegged copies around, but I'd rather have a authentic one.

Available (only recently released) on Region 2 (France) as "L'Homme qui n'a pas d'etoile." Excellent transfer, and in a Kirk Douglas box with "The Last Sunset" and "Lonely Are the Braver." (Also separately, but the other two films are almost -- not quite -- as good.)

I rented a copy of this movie from the local video rental. This one is from Spain, and I could watch it on my computer easily, by using VLC, which is freeware.

I just switched the language track from Spanish to English, and turned the Spanish subtitles off, and the dvd played perfectly.

Man Without A Star has also now been released on DVD in the U. K. It's a brilliant transfer and, of course, you don't have to switch soundtracks.

Do you know if the UK edition features any extras of any kind?
Thanks.

reply

No extras of any kind. Just good picture quality.

reply

Excellent!
Many thanks for the update.

I wonder if there's a license dispute. Almos all other westerns of the same quality from the 50s and the 60s have been released on DVD (and many on Blu/Ray too). It's a shame that this one hasn't.
